Members of Darwin Stingers, one of the largest clubs in Australia, meet at the following times. There are no compulsory sessions; members attend different sessions according to their needs, interests and availability.

The schedule below is a temporary one while repairs to Nightcliff Pools post Cyclone Marcus are carried out.

 

Training Information

PARAP POOL

Sunday 8.00 – 10.00am.
The club hires 5 lanes of the 50m pool from 0800-1000. Most members attending take part in the Endurance 1000 Competition, in which the club and individual members compete against other clubs and their members around Australia. The weekly program has swims over 400m, 800m, 1500m, 30 min, 45 min and 60 min, with a different stroke/distance each week.  Points are awarded on a scale that takes into account time, distance and age group. A training program is also provided for members to use if they wish.  $2 for lane hire for the Endurance program plus pool entry. Members only.

Tuesday and Thursday 530-0630am
Graded training, intermediate to advanced.

Tuesday 8.00-9.00am and Thursday 8.30 – 9.30am
The focus of these sessions is stroke correction for beginners and intermediate swimmers. Members only on Thursday – free coaching, $2 for lane hire plus pool entry.

Wednesday and Friday 8.30- 9.30am
Graded training, intermediate to advanced.

NIGHTCLIFF POOL

Saturday 8.15 – 9.15am
Graded training program – $2 for lane hire plus pool entry. Members only.

CASUARINA

Monday 6.00- 7.30pm, Tuesday and Thursday 6.00 -7.00pm
Graded training, intermediate to advanced.

 

COSTS

Unless otherwise indicated for members only sessions, each session costs $8 for members and $12 for non-members. The $8 cost for members can be accessed only by buying a 10-swim card. Swimmers are also required to pay the normal pool entry fee.
